Open Days

The university runs open days several times a year. The most popular are the Pre-Application Open Days which happen in June and September. These are for students who are at the beginning of the UCAS process. Pre-Application Open Days are not only a great way to learn more about your department, course content and course structure, but also an opportunity to see the benefits of the distinctive college system we have in Durham. You can also use these open days to find out more about international support, studying abroad, student finance, scholarships, disability support and the Durham Student's Union.

The university is committed to helping those with lower income backgrounds, offering travel bursaries to those unable to afford to travel to the university open days.

There are also Post-Offer Visit Days, specifically for offer holders. If holding an offer, you are strongly encouraged to attend the full visit day programme and to stay overnight in college. This is designed to give you, albeit briefly, a taste of college life. We hope this will help to enable you to make a more informed choice of University. If you are allocated a place at Hild Bede, the college will send you an invitation to our Post-Offer Visit Day.

COVID-19 affected Post Offer Visit Days

We were really sad not to be able to host the Residential Post Offer Visit Days (POVDs) in March this year, although we enjoyed being able to make the POVDs virtual and give as many prospective students the opportunity to find out what being a Hild Bede Student is like via Webinars, videos which can be found on YouTube and an Instagram Q&A. The Instagram content is still up to view on Story Highlights under "Prospective HB?".
