Balls

The Hild Bede Ball Committee proudly organises two spectacular balls each year: the elegant Winter Ball during Michaelmas Term and the show-stopping Summer Ball in Easter Term. These events are cornerstones of the college social calendar, bringing together students for nights of celebration, entertainment, and unforgettable memories.

Led by the Ball Officer, the committee is formed at the start of each academic year, with applications open to students from all year groups. We’re always on the lookout for fresh ideas and enthusiastic members to help shape these incredible events, so if you’re creative, organised, or just love a good party, we’d love to have you on board.

Hild Bede Balls are held at external venues and your ticket includes everything you need for a seamless experience: transport to the event, a sparkling drinks reception, a delicious three-course meal, and a full evening of entertainment. Expect live student bands, tribute acts, and plenty of surprises throughout the night.

Our Summer Ball takes things to the next level, featuring theme park rides and a legendary “survivors element” - a late-night continuation with extra ents, a silent disco, and a survivors’ breakfast to round off the festivities.
